Marisa Gaetanne, Music Director

It gives the Vancouver Bach Choir great pleasure to announce the appointment, effective July 1/09, of Marisa Gaetanne as the Music Director of the Vancouver Bach Children’s Chorus family of choirs. Ms. Gaetanne has been involved in this program for almost 20 years, conducting mainly our younger singers, and has worked closely with Bruce Pullan, who has just retired after 25 years in this position, to maintain a high level of both music education and performance. She is committed to continuing and furthering the basic values and professionalism of this organization.

Known for her beautiful coloratura voice and vivacious personality, Ms. Gaetanne has sung professionally for more than 20 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Italian and a Masters in Music, Voice Performance, from UBC, where she has subsequently taught voice for 20 years. Head of Voice at VCC School of Music since 2001, Ms. Gaetanne was a winner in the MET auditions and studied and performed professionally in London, New York, and Italy. She has also spent considerable time studying and teaching Kodaly and Orff techniques for young children, is a popular adjudicator and gives workshops on vocal technique throughout the province. She has been the co-conductor of the BCCF summer day camp, Choral Stage, for many years.
